Two groups gave some local trees a little TLC at a “Street Tree” event in Canarsie last Saturday.
The Lower East Side Ecology Center and the Fresh Creek Civic Association teamed up to compost 24 trees using 35 bags of compost. Thanks to Pastor Chase of Beulah Church, there was a team of 18 volunteers participating to beautify East 108th Street, from Avenue M to Flatlands 10th Street.
