May was a busy month for seniors who attend the Sunrise Adult Day Health Care Center. It was a month jam-packed with lots of fun, healthy activities and big smiles, as everyone is glad to be back – in person – enjoying each other’s company at the center.
On May 23rd, entertainment was provided by Sunrise’s Elena Belova and special guest singer, Ella Zaslavsky. They performed international songs, and the talented Stefania Sustic entertained everyone with a violin solo and a special dance performance of Black Swan.
One of Sunrise’s goals is “Keeping registrants healthy while having fun,” and the seniors got active at the Annual Health and Fitness Day” on May 25th, where basketball, volleyball and yoga were just some of the active things on the agenda!
A monthly birthday celebration was hosted by Belova, and the month wrapped up with a wonderful barbecue on Memorial Day.
Milena Mazzeo, Recreation Program Coordinator at Sunrise, told the Canarsie Courier, “I have never experienced the smiles on the registrants’ faces in all my years here…finally normal!”
