Kings Plaza – Picturing Pets and Santa for the Holidays

November 27, 2024

Vol. 104 No. 49

Move over kids! Taking holiday pictures with Santa has gone to the dogs as pet photos with Santa have been added to the list of festive events taking place at the Kings Plaza Mall on November 25th and December 2nd  this holiday season.

They came from near and far, dressed in their best attire and ready to create lasting holiday memories with Santa.

Nick and Cassandra De Morato came from Staten Island with their 4-year-old Labradoodle (a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle), Cuccio, to have a photo taken for their holiday cards this year.

“He likes to get dressed up,” Nick said of Cuccio’s red and white holiday sweater. The proud owners told the Canarsie Courier that Cuccio was special because he works as a therapy dog who visits nursing homes three times a week.

Another interesting and handsome hound named Pepper came by with his owner, Canarsie resident Diyanka Patrice. Pepper, dressed with a bow on his collar to match his owner’s outfit, is a 6-year-old Chiweenie (a cross between a Dachshund and a Chihuahua).

“The photo is a reminder of the greatest gift Santa gave me,” Patrice said. “He gave me Pepper and the photos will be a reminder of the holidays we get to spend together and of how he became my best friend.”

“Santa Claus isn’t just about kids; he helps animals too,” added photographer Hezekiah Gardner.
