Adults have really enjoyed the free outdoor concerts in Marine Park this summer, but it was time for the kids to “jump, wiggle and shake” with The Fuzzy Lemons last week.
The Fuzzy Lemons, “the juiciest family-friendly rock band ever,” got kids of all ages up and dancing at an energetic concert held on Wednesday, July 26th in Marine Park, the fourth in the popular concert series, sponsored by Assemblywoman Jaime Williams.
Children were given numbered tickets to receive free books and toys, while older children practiced their archery skills outside the Carmine Carro Community Center. There was also a raffle at the end of the concert; the assemblywoman called out the lucky winners, and kids got to choose their favorite toys.
The Marine Park concerts are sponsored by Kings Plaza and Nick’s Lobster House, among others, in coordination with Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, State Senator Simcha Felder, Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein, Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse and District Leader Frank Seddio, and in partnership with Millennium Development, NYC Parks, Marine Park Alliance and Marine Park Community Association.
The free concerts take place on Wednesday evenings through August 23rd at 7 p.m. on the lawn near the bocce courts. Bring a blanket or a chair. The M.A.S. Swing Band will be performing on Wednesday, August 9th. Rain date is August 10th.
