You don’t need to go to Las Vegas to meet the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll; he’s right here in Brooklyn! Don Anthony, a veteran entertainer, is our very own Elvis Presley.
Anthony has teamed up with the Floridian Plaza Diner to treat guests to a special show and movie. Every Saturday, you can find Anthony dressed as either Elvis Presley, Tom Jones or “Old Blue Eyes” (Frank Sinatra). Anthony started his career as a kid but became a professional 23 years ago and has sung at almost every catering hall in the tristate area.
Saturday night was a particularly special night as Anthony performed his Legends show, singing songs by Sinatra, Tony Bennett and, of course, the King, Elvis Presley. Additionally, it was his wife’s birthday. The couple met seven years ago when he was performing at Lenny’s Clam Bar in Queens.
During the show, Anthony engaged the crowd and even invited all the lovebirds to dance during a romantic serenade. Twin sisters, Sol and Celea, from Canarsie found out about the show through their church sister. They were excited to see the performance and had heard great reviews about Anthony. Other guests, who had seen the show before, said that the best part of the performance is when Anthony comes up close and sings directly to you. Diners also had a special menu to choose from, like steak, fish or chicken, at a discounted price to go with the show.
Anthony can be found at the Floridian Plaza Diner, 2301 Flatbush Avenue, on Saturday nights. Call the diner at 718-377-7733 for information and reservations.
