A blizzard pummeled the Canarsie area, starting Friday afternoon and continuing all day Saturday.
Freezing cold temps, heavy winds and snowfall swept through the area, blanketing the streets with approximately six to eight inches of fluffy snow, depending on where you live. Sheepshead Bay reported eight inches of snow.
Fortunately, the Nor’easter struck over the weekend, so parents didn’t have to worry about school closures, and the cleanup process was smoother for the Department of Sanitation. Still, thousands of travelers were stranded at local airports, as the storm cancelled thousands of flights.
Our photographers were out and about, snapping shots of these beautiful snow scenes.
