The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that there would be no trash, curbside composting, or recycling collection on Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, 2026.
- Residents who normally receive Saturday trash, curbside composting, or recycling collection should place their material at the curb Saturday evening for collection beginning Sunday, July 5.
Friday, July 3 is a normal collection day; residents should follow their normal set out schedule that day.
NOTE FOR ALL RESIDENTS: Collection delays may occur after a holiday. We appreciate patience as we work to collect the backlog of material.
