On Sunday, October 9th, the American Cancer Society hosted the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk to unite communities, companies and individuals with a collective goal to end breast cancer.
Hundreds of Brooklynites showed up with their sashes and posters, celebrating their personal accomplishments of either beating cancer or the name/s of someone who lost their fight.
The Making Strides walk started at the Coney Island Boardwalk and Maimonides Park. Participants walked along the boardwalk to complete the four-mile trek. There were many tents set up to share resources and information.
