October 16, 2026

Vol. 106 No. 43

Brooklyn, NY — The Center for Brooklyn History at Brooklyn Public Library is collecting elementary, middle and high school yearbooks to fill gaps in the existing Brooklyn Schools Collection. To learn how to submit your yearbook, click here.

The yearbook collection spans 100 years and represents about 150 different public and private Brooklyn schools, from elementary to college. They provide a wealth of information about Brooklyn’s educational history and about the culture and current events at the time of publication.

Researchers use the yearbooks to find old friends, to learn more about young people and trends in earlier generations, or to locate images of renowned persons. The collection includes yearbooks with Shirley Chisholm, Larry David, Larry King, Rhea Perlman, Rita (Roxie) Roker, John Salley, Barbra Streisand and Janet Yellen, among others.

When you submit your yearbook, it will become part of the Center for Brooklyn History at Brooklyn Public Library, home to the most comprehensive collection of materials related to Brooklyn’s history and culture in the world.
