Sons of a King Lodge #123 Hosts 5th Annual Edward Swire Memorial Blood Drive

Brooklyn, NY – Sons of a King Lodge #123, a prominent community organization, successfully  hosted their 5th Annual Edward Swire Memorial Blood Drive on Saturday, September 23. The  event occurred at Vanderveer Park United Methodist Church, where residents and lodge  members gathered to support this worthy cause. 

Worshipful Master Mark Alexander of Sons of a King Lodge #123, expressed his heartfelt  appreciation for the overwhelming support shown by the local community. He said, “It is  through the sweat and tears of the members of any organization that keep it going. The blood  donated at our 5th Annual Edward Swire Memorial Blood Drive will help people in dire need.  This is one of the highest forms of charity.” 

The annual blood drive, now in its fifth year, has gained recognition as a crucial event in the  community. Each year, it aims to honor the memory of Edward Swire by encouraging blood  donations that will save lives. This year, the fifth annual memorial blood drive saw an  overwhelming response from residents, with a record-breaking number of thirty-eight  participants, resulting in 40 life-saving donations. 

The lodge and its members strongly believe in the power of giving back to the community and in  the tremendous impact of life-saving efforts. Through the combined efforts of Sons of a King  Lodge #123 and the community, this year’s blood drive proved to be a resounding success. The  donated blood will undoubtedly make a difference in the lives of those in need.
