The 69th Precinct Community Affairs Bureau hosted a back-to-school giveaway on Monday, August 29th, at Canarsie Park, where they distributed backpacks and other school supplies to scores of parents and their young children.
The event included a raffle where the kids won tablets and additional school necessities. There was also a rock climbing wall and other fun activities for them to enjoy. Additionally, the NYPD provided CPR training to parents and children alike.
Another great treat the children had were sno cones, provided by Cato, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs and other snacks that were distributed liberally by the NYPD.
The event was made possible with the support of the 69th Precinct Community Council, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, State Senator Roxanne Persaud, Assemblywoman Jaime Williams, Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse and Lions Jean Joseph.
