Police Commissioner’s Day Of Play Is Back!

July 21, 2022

Last summer, the NYPD started a citywide initiative, known as the Police Commissioner’s Day of Play. Its purpose was to bring cops and kids together and build connections through positive role models. By keeping kids engaged, and by providing activities and resources for our youth, the hope is that kids will stay out of trouble.

Last year’s initiative was so successful that the program has returned this year. On Wednesday, July 20th, our local youth braved the scorching heat at the Day of Play, which was held at the 100% Playground, located at Glenwood Road and East 100th Street. Between 4 and 7 p.m., kids enjoyed a game of basketball with members of the 69th Precinct, and State Senator Roxanne Persaud stopped by the event to show her support.
Thanks to an anonymous donor, the kids had plenty of snacks and drinks to keep them hydrated.
