P.S. 312 PTA Hosts Radio Music Night

April 21, 2026

Bingo crews, “raffle-holics,” the P.S. 312 Bergen Beach School community and people who just wanted a chance to wear their dancing shoes were in line at 7 p.m. sharp for their seats at the adults-only Radio Music Night hosted by the P.S. 312 Parent Teacher Association (PTA) on Friday evening, April 17th.

This was the first year that the PTA hosted a 21-and-over evening for anyone hunting the next big raffle win or obsessed with music and bingo (and a cash bar). The Radio Music Night, held at the Knights of Baron DeKalb, located at 3000 Emmons Avenue, took the executive board and the association a year to plan, collecting donations, advertising and creating an agenda for the evening that everyone could appreciate.

The flyer stated, “Bring your own food,” and attendees did not disappoint. There were six-foot heroes that made people stare as they walked by tables; there were appetizers, entrees, snacks and desserts prepared by local delicatessens and bakeries that were shared with other tables, reinforcing the sense of community.

Tickets were $40 per person, or $350 for a table of 10, and those tables were filled by the time the first round of Disco Era Radio Bingo began. The anticipation grew with every song, Donna Summer singing, “On the Radio.” Gloria Gaynor is still surviving, and the hopes were that the next song would be “BINGO!” There were luxurious prizes for every winner.

Everybody was on the edge of their seats waiting to see if their number or name would be called for “that” raffle. There were too many exceptional and elite items to bid on and seeing them in person made it even harder to live without, like the four tickets to a Yankees Game, blow-outs and hair dryers from E Salon, gift cards from LaVilla, a Take Me to the Movies gift basket, and Panino Rustico, Seaview Jewelers and Aliotta gift certificates. There were too many prizes to list, and eye-catching covered baskets filled the neatly-decorated tables throughout the space.

The PTA Executive Board was thrilled with all the parents, teachers, staff members, community businesses and members that attended, donated and helped to make the First Annual P.S. 312 PTA Radio Music Night so successful. All proceeds will go toward P.S. 312 events such as the Back to School BBQ, the pumpkin patch, Field Day, 5th-grade graduation and other senior activities, along with other annual events.

P.S. 312 Bergen Beach is located at 7103 Avenue T.
