Feeling stiff and a little achy? Need to stretch after sitting behind a computer all day? Yoga is a great way to stretch your tired muscles, gain flexibility, unwind and reduce stress. It’s also a great way to enjoy the great outdoors, thanks to free Yoga in the Park sessions, sponsored by Assemblywoman Jaime Williams, offered all summer long in Marine Park.
Yoga sessions, for all ages and every level (including beginners), take place every Monday at 7 p.m. by the flagpole near the Carmine Carro Community Center, 3000 Fillmore Avenue. The next class will take place on July 15th and every Monday night (weather permitting) until August 26th.
The classes are led by Yoga instructor Cathy Dews and held in partnership with Marine Park Alliance, Millennium Development, Marine Park Community Association, Kings Plaza, NYC Parks, Bical and Tracey Real Estate.
So, get out there and practice your downward dog and warrior poses! Bring a yoga mat and water. For more information, call 718-252-2124.
