There isn’t a Disco Party like a Scott Yahney Disco Party! The crowd showed up and sprawled all over the Marine Park lawn — from the bocce courts and beyond – on Wednesday, September 9th, dancing in the streets and soaking in the last songs of the Marine Park Summer Concert Series hosted by Assemblywoman Jaime Williams.
DJ Yahney’s playlist was exactly what the audience wanted, and they were up and grooving throughout the entire concert. He played “I’m Coming Out” by Diana Ross, Chic’s “Le Freak,” “Funkytown” by Lipps Inc. and other disco favorites, causing dancers to bump, hustle and twist. Even the fans who never danced were up enjoying the music, and Yahney’s charismatic and vibrant energy was engaging.
These amazing concerts (11 in total this season) were free and open to the public. Williams along with sponsors Marine Park Alliance, Kings Plaza, Michaels of Brooklyn, Tracey Real Estate, Marine Park Hardware, Chrysalis Archaeological Consultants, Bical Auto Mall, Nick’s Lobster House, Sotheby’s International Realty and Vincent R. Cervone and Associates in partnership with NYC Parks, Millennium Development and the Marine Park Community Association made these favorite summer concerts possible.
After squeezing in the last little bit of summer, this was the final concert of the season, but the concerts will return next year!
