Marine Park — Families Flock to Annual Family Fall Festival

Vol. 105 No. 46

It may have felt like summer, but the spirit of fall was in full swing as hundreds of families gathered for Assemblywoman Jaime Williams’ Annual Family Fall Festival at the Carmine Carro Community Center in Marine Park on Sunday, October 26th.

Despite the unseasonably warm weather, the event brought the magic of autumn to life — with pumpkins, costumes, face painting, games, music and plenty of smiles. Families came dressed for the Halloween season, and children enjoyed trick-or-treating and taking pictures with horses and costumed characters.

Williams, known for her hands-on dedication to the community, once again demonstrated her commitment by not only organizing but personally attending the festival. “Today’s Fall Festival exceeded expectations,” she said, extending thanks to the many community partners who helped make the event possible.

Williams credited the Marine Park Community Association, Marine Park Alliance, East Flatbush Village Inc., E.N.O.U.G.H., Millennium Development, Visit Canarsie, TriniJam BK, Friends of the Lott House, NYC Parks, NYC Sanitation, FDNY, NYPD, Mill Basin Civic Association, Flatlands Volunteer Ambulance and the American Debate League for their support.

With nearly 1,500 families in attendance — the largest turnout to date — the festival was a true celebration of neighborhood spirit. Members of the Mill Basin Civic, including Marilyn and Edwin Vasquez and Christina Caputo, joined in the festivities and donated treat bags for the children.

As the sun shone and music played, Marine Park was filled with laughter, community pride and the unmistakable joy that comes from neighbors coming together.

“Events like this remind us how strong and connected our community truly is,” Williams said. “We had a blast — and we can’t wait to do it again next year!”
