Thanks to Kings Plaza Mall, 1,500 turkeys were distributed through local officials to be divided up by various elected officials and nonprofits who planned to give away Thanksgiving meals to their constituents, congregants and members of the community.
Turkeys were distributed to Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, Assemblywomen Jaime Williams and Monique Chandler-Waterman, State Senators Roxanne Persaud and Kevin Parker, Councilwomen Mercedes Narcisse and Farah Louis, as well as Community Board 18, Millennium Development and Mary Queen of Heaven Church.
The turkey distribution took place on Thursday, December 21st, at Kings Plaza Mall, ensuring those who are not able to purchase turkeys and all the fixings have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
