Good Times At Bayview Day!

August 22, 2022

On Saturday, August 20th, residents of the Bayview Houses enjoyed a fun-filled day with games, hamburgers and hot dogs, and fresh vegetables straight from Bayview’s very own garden at the annual Bayview Day.

A crowd gathered by Bayview’s Management Office where the event was held, and there was a rock climbing wall for those who dared to try it! Lots of kids and some adults took on the task and were successful in getting to the top – the kids absolutely loved it!
There was also a game of cornhole (where you throw bean bags into a hole), which provided lots of fun especially for police officers who tried their luck at the popular game. Captain Khandakar Abdullah, commanding officer of the 69th Precinct, also attended the event to show his support for the community.
Assemblywoman Jaime Williams was on hand to pass out hamburgers and hot dog lunches – she even made her famous curry for the residents to enjoy. Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse spent time speaking to residents, serving food and even spending time on the grill with the assemblywoman. State Senator Roxanne Persaud also attended and supported the event, saying hello to friends and speaking with constituents.
The weather was beautiful, and everyone had a nice time at Bayview Day.
