The Coney Island Polar Bears have nothin’ on these brave guys who took a New Year’s Day plunge into the frigid waters of Shell Bank Creek, located at the “Point” in Gerritsen Beach, on Sunday!
Abi, Joe and Nick (pictured) participated in the annual event, which takes place at the southern end of Gerritsen Avenue. Approximately 40 people took a dip in the chilly waters, with over 500 onlookers cheering them on. A massive bonfire warmed all the polar bears up.
