It’s the most wonderful time of the year! In the spirit of the season, Assemblywoman Jaime Williams and the Flatlands Civic Club, Inc. held a Community Holiday Lighting at the Fox Playground, on Avenue H and East 54th Street, on Tuesday, December 13th.
Elected officials, community and civic leaders, along with residents of the 59th Assembly District enjoyed a special performance by the students of nearby P.S. 251 The Paerdegat School. The kids entertained the crowd by singing two holiday songs, and there was hot cocoa to warm everyone up!
This is the second annual tree lighting at Fox Playground, and it was held in conjunction with State Senator Kevin Parker, Councilwoman Farah Louis and District Leader Frank Seddio.
Also in attendance were Councilwoman Mercedes Narcisse and former Councilman Alan Maisel, Community Board 18 District Manager Sue Ann Partnow, Millennium Development Executive Director Paul Curiale, Michael Benjamin from State Senator Roxanne Persaud’s office and officers of the 63rd Precinct.
