Thanksgiving cheer filled the air as the Kings Theatre presented its annual holiday luncheon with free Thanksgiving dinners for all.
An estimated crowd of over 300 people lined up for probably the best-tasting Thanksgiving dinner you could imagine. Hot turkey, stuffing, ham, sweet potatoes, rice, chicken, veggies, cider, soda and water – all for the asking. Let’s not forget dessert – there was plenty of apple pie and pumpkin pie to go around too!
The event took place inside a big white tent adjacent to the Kings Theatre, located at 1027 Flatbush Avenue, in the heart of Flatbush. Culinary students from nearby Erasmus Hall prepared the meals under the watchful eye of their culinary instructors and served up dinners to the happy smiling faces that lined up waiting to be fed.
Congresswoman Yvette Clark (9th Congressional District) and Councilwoman Rita Joseph (40th District) volunteered to serve the veggies. Beautiful weather also helped make the afternoon event a resounding success.
