Santa and his elves have been busy decking the halls of the seventh floor at 875 Pennsylvania Avenue! He had some help from Elizabeth Figueroa, a longtime resident of the Penn-Wortman Houses, who has been spreading Christmas cheer to her friends and neighbors at the NYCHA houses for 41 years.
Figueroa is passionate about all the holidays, especially Christmas, and her fame has spread far and wide – she’s been featured on News12 Brooklyn and CBS News for her outstanding decor. Not even the Grinch himself could steal her Christmas spirit! Her decorations range from a nativity scene to the North Pole and everyone’s favorite characters from classic holiday movies.
This year, Figueroa is dedicating her dazzling hallway to the refugee children of the Ukraine, as well as migrant children from South America. “May God bless all the children of the world!” she exclaimed.
