Firefighters responded to a two alarm fire in a two-story private residence at 118 East 40th Street, off of Linden Boulevard, on Saturday, June 4th.
Units arrived just after 2 p.m. to heavy fire conditions on the second floor, attic area and the roof. Smoke eaters cut multiple ventilation holes to release the smoke from the attic, and four hose lines were used to extinguish the blaze.
The fire was placed under control at 3:20 p.m. The cause is under investigation by the FDNY Fire Marshal’s Office.
