East Flatbush – Honoring the Highest Ranking Haitian Officer In The NYPD

Hundreds gathered on Wednesday, September 28th, at Tropical Breeze, 1367 Utica Avenue, to honor the commanding officer of the 67th Precinct, Deputy Inspector Gaby Celiba, for his exemplary service in the East Flatbush community. Celiba is the highest ranking Haitian officer in the NYPD.
Several Haitian community organizations put together the event, which was organized by artist and activist Kenny Altidor. Attendees included NYPD Chief of Department Kenneth Corey, Patrol Borough Brooklyn South Chief Michael Kemper, and Deputy Chiefs Ruel Stephenson and Norman Grandstaff. Elected officials, including Public Advocate Jumanne Williams, State Senators Roxanne Persaud and Kevin Parker, Assemblywoman Monique Chandler-Waterman and Councilman Farah Louis, were also there to honor Celiba’s accomplishments.
