Congratulations to Khandakar Abdullah, Commanding Officer of the 69th Precinct, on his promotion from Captain to Deputy Inspector on December 23, 2022.
Deputy Inspector Abdullah joined the 69th Precinct (for the second time in his career!) in September 2021 as Commanding Officer under the title of Captain.
Abdullah, who previously served as Executive Officer in the 69th Precinct, is the first Bangladeshi American to become a Commanding Officer in the NYPD.
Serving the NYPD for 15 years, Abdullah was named Commanding Officer of the Year in 2022 and was honored at a ceremony held by the Bangladesh American Police Association (BAPA) last October.
On behalf of the entire community, we congratulate Deputy Inspector Khandakar Abdullah on his well-deserved promotion. The dedicated officer really cares about our community and works well with the clergy and the community and is committed to making Canarsie a safer place to live.
