Police have arrested and charged a North Carolina man in connection to the murder of Breukelen Houses resident Zamel Myers on July 10, 2022.
Following a yearlong investigation, Leo Lewis, 43, of Greensboro, was arrested on Tuesday, July 25th, within the confines of the 69th Precinct, and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Lewis is accused of shooting Myers, 44, inside of 107-13 Flatlands Avenue, around 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2022 (see “Second Breukelen Resident Killed in One Month,” Canarsie Courier, July 14, 2022). The victim was shot in the torso and pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
