Frigid temps and howling winds couldn’t stop a group of passionate pickleball players from braving the bitter cold for a pickleball reunion on Saturday night, February 7th, at Rockaway Beach Pickleball, located at 97-25 Beach Channel Drive in Rockaway, Queens.
The night brought together old friends, many who have not seen each other since the fall, as the group generally plays outdoors twice a week in Bergen Beach during the warmer months.
About 30 players, excited to reunite with their pickleball buddies, took over Rockaway Beach Pickleball for three hours, renting out all five of their courts.
For those who worked up an appetite playing America’s fastest-growing sport, the event also included plenty of refreshments and food, including chicken wings, pizza, spinach rolls, garlic knots, etc.
Memories of hot summer nights warmed even the coldest of nights.
Pickleball players are looking forward to the next reunion – or warmer days to play outdoors!
