For three hours, ghouls glided in and out of 1222 East 96th Street, picking pumpkins and snatching up bags of candy. They transformed themselves into goblins, police officers, firefighters, princesses, witches, farmers — you name it and there’s a good chance the character appeared at State Senator Roxanne Persaud’s Halloween shindig on Monday.
Community partners, NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), Hebrew Educational Society (H.E.S.) and East Flatbush Village, contributed to the popular, annual trick-or-treat bash. In addition to the sweet treats, the groups handed out bags of fresh-popped popcorn, PPE items and pamphlets regarding diabetes, breast cancer and high blood pressure. The children also chose a favorite storybook and posed for a quick snapshot with the senator and staff.
Persaud thanked all her guests, staff and volunteers, Brooklyn Canarsie Lions and Brooklyn Transition Lions, for contributing to the fun-filled afternoon.
