The family of 12 year old Kade Lewin was in mourning following his shooting death on March 31 while eating dinner with his 20 year old aunt and 9 year old cousin. The three youngsters were caught in the cross fire of gang rivals when they stopped to eat McDonald’s at Linden Boulevards and East 56 Street. The young boy who loved football and basketball was pronounced dead at the scene. His 20 year old cousin still in the hospital. The suspects are still on the run from the NYPD. A family spoke person said “we are devastated about these events. Kade was smart, funny and loved life.” His school mates from BCES charter school wore shirts with his picture on it.
