Marine Park concertgoers were treated to a demonstration of 3D printing where a digital file creates the model which eventually transfers to the printer. Curious adults and children assembled in front of the Carmine Carro Community Center where Michael Danza, who teaches 3D printing at Kingsborough Community College, had his 3D printer set up and printing. People watched, mesmerized as three reels of plastic as thin as spaghetti and available in a wide range of colors were fed through heated tubes to form a solid plastic item. Danza demonstrated how key chains are made inside the 3D printing machine. As long as we have the dimensions, we can print just about anything!
