On Monday, June 3rd, staff and students of P.S. 279 The Herman Schreiber School, 1070 East 104th Street, kicked off their annual Multicultural Day Celebration with a parade, led by Principal Lorenzo Chambers, throughout the neighborhood.
The parade was followed by a celebration, complete with music, dance and food, in the schoolyard. The children entertained with short performances, and everyone enjoyed a special steel drum band performance by members of I.S. 285 Meyer Levin School.
The event brought together a world of people and cultures, including Uganda, Spain, Puerto Rico and the Grenadines, among other countries.
