Over 3,000 Toys Collected At Annual Toys For Tots Drive

January 2, 2023

The 21st Annual Toys for Tots Holiday Toy Drive was a huge success as usual this year. Since its inception, over 85,000 toys have been collected for children in need!

The charitable event was founded by the late City Councilman, State Committeeman and District Leader Lew Fidler. Since his passing, the holiday tradition lives on.
Under the leadership of Jennifer Faucher, Female District Leader and NYS Committeewoman of the 41st Assembly District, and Councilman Kalman Yeger, Male District Leader, the Holiday Toy Drive was held at the 41st AD “Lew Fidler” Democrats Club, at 2952 Avenue R, on Wednesday, December 21st.
Along with the support of Assemblywoman Helene Weinstein, in conjunction with partners and sponsors, over 3,000 toys were collected for children who may not have an opportunity to open a toy during this holiday season.
The event also brought together U.S. Marines Corps Reserves from the 6th Communication Battalion (based out of Floyd Bennett Field), 61st Precinct Community Affairs, elected officials, and community and district leaders from across Kings County, as well as constituents of the 41st Assembly District, in the spirit of the season.
This was also an opportunity to pass the baton from one Male District Leader (Hon. Brad J. Reid) to the other (Councilman Kalman Yeger), in the presence of the community.
