Sunrise Senior Living of Mill Basin, located at 5905 Strickland Avenue, held a Barbecue and Antique Car Show to the delight of residents on Saturday, August 26th, a welcome return after a two-year hiatus due to COVID.
Under a warm, blue sunny sky, the chef had the barbecue fired up, cooking hamburgers and hot dogs while staffers served up potato and macaroni salad and, of course, pork and beans. As the seniors enjoyed their meals, they reminisced about the good times – talking about the past and the present. A band also played music, while the seniors enjoyed listening and dancing.
There was also fun for the kids too – with an inflatable house to jump, toss and tumble in, as well as darts and ringtone games.
All this was made possible by Evans Georgopolis, who is the president of the Antique Car Show. He and his members were happy to oblige the seniors, making it a fun afternoon for all.
