Marine Park – The Fuzzy Lemons Celebrate Christmas in July!

August 4, 2024

Vol. 104 No. 32

Kids didn’t have to wait until December to celebrate Christmas this year – the Fuzzy Lemons held a special “Christmas in July” concert for children at the Carmine Carro Community Center in Marine Park on Wednesday, July 31st.

The Marine Park Concert series is sponsored by Assemblywoman Jaime Williams, and there have been four great concerts for the adults so far this summer, including everything from Caribbean music, salsa and opera to classic rock, but the Fuzzy Lemon concert was dedicated to the kids, and it was nonstop fun and laughter for everyone!

Before the Fuzzy Lemons took the stage, there was a special dance performance by a group of female students from Dance House of Brooklyn, a dance studio located at 5813 Avenue N.  The talented girls performed three different dance routines, to excited cheers from the audience.

Next, kids of all ages, many who had their faces painted by a clown at the event, got up to jump and dance to the energetic, playful songs of the Fuzzy Lemons, a four-piece, family-friendly rock band from New Jersey.

Assemblywoman Williams had a table filled with almost 100 toys, games and dolls, and all the children received raffle tickets upon entry to the big shindig.  Following the concert, all the lucky winners got to choose their favorite toy from the large selection.  The great thing is that everyone was a winner, and all the children went home with a prize!

The Marine Park concerts are sponsored by Marine Park Alliance, Kings Plaza and Nick’s Lobster House, among others, in coordination with State Senators Simcha Felder and Roxanne Persaud, and District Leader Frank Seddio, and in partnership with Millennium Development, NYC Parks and the Marine Park Community Association.

The next concert will be held on Thursday, August 8th, where the Scott Yahney & Friends Band will be performing Classic Hits and more.  In case of rain, the concert will be held in the Carro Center.

All concerts take place on the lawn near the bocce courts at 7 p.m.  Bring a blanket, chair and your friends and family!  For more information, call 718-252-2124.
