The biannual Fashion Week Brooklyn (FWBK) Fashion Show, which kicked off on Saturday, April 12th, at Kings Plaza Shopping Center, featured 7-year-old sensation Montana Monroe, whose recent modeling video went viral, earning her almost 12 million likes on Instagram and a shout-out from supermodel Naomi Campbell.
Monroe’s mom told the Canarsie Courier that since age 5, her daughter has been training with runway coach and fashion model, Diva Davanna, who also caught the attention of Campbell at an early age.
The event also showcased a host of other young models who, like Monroe, strutted down the runway with sass, wearing chic designs from Asphalt, Tashi Coutre, Jaylene World Boutique, Black Girls Sew, Shiyenze Fashion and Been Sturdy.
FWBK attracted scores of proud parents, adoring fans, curious shoppers and even a visit from the Easter Bunny. Close to 20 stores offered customers a free VIP swag bag stuffed with goodies if they made at least a $100 purchase on the day of the event.
