On Saturday June 10th, Kyron Dupont and Zakiya Gittens hosted the 3rd Annual Community Block Party on East 96th Street and Avenue N where community residents were treated to funnel cake, popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs and more.
The event was held to reduce gun violence and to give local residents a safe place to play and to have a good time. There were bouncy houses for the little kids and a video game truck for the young adults. There were also games of skill as athletes had to throw a football through a very narrow window and make baskets from a basketball rim that was very unforgiving! DJ Pove provided the music, and Captain Faust entertained the crowd with some dazzling magic tricks.
