The 20th anniversary of the Spirit of Life Walkathon was a true celebration of life! Held outside the John Malone Community Center, 2302 Bergen Avenue, the annual walkathon is held in memory and celebration of Tommy Meo Jr., a 12-year-old boy who left this world too soon. He was truly unforgettable!
It was a day of fun and friendship, a day of sharing and giving to others. Over 130 prizes were raffled off while the huge crowd enjoyed entertainment, pony rides, bouncy houses, food, refreshments and much, much more. Once again, the Spirit of Life Walkathon and the Tommy Meo Jr. Scholarship fund made special donations to those in need.
The great work to help local families is only accomplished through the generosity of friends, family and the community, and the Meo family is truly grateful that so many made and continue to make the decision to support them.
“As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we continue to be overwhelmed by the very generous support of the over 300 people who were able to join us today, as well as for the many who supported us by mail and online,” said Jackie Meo Scollo. “We look forward with enthusiasm to 2023’s Walkathon!”
