Hundreds of people attended the 19th Annual Feast of Madonna Del Carmine (Lady of Mount Carmel) at St. Bernard Church, where there were exciting rides, carnival games, raffles and lots of great food, snacks and refreshments, and, of course, Italian music.
The annual feast took place from Thursday, July 20th through Sunday, July 23rd, concluding with a Special Mass, celebrated by Bishop Robert Brennan, and followed by a procession through the neighborhood, with the statue of our Lady of Mount Carmel, parishioners, clergy and a marching band. Kids and adults really enjoyed themselves, and the weather held up over the four days, with bright, sunny skies and low humidity.
St. Bernard Church is located at East 69th Street, between Avenue U and Veterans Avenue.
