Firefighters battled a basement blaze at 1322 East 89th Street, between Avenues M and N, on Saturday, August 12th. Units arrived at the two-story residence where they found heavy smoke conditions in the basement of the home around 11:55 p.m.
Firefighting operations were briefly delayed due to heavy clutter conditions in the basement. Fire Department personnel used two hose lines to knock down the fire. No one was injured, and the fire was placed under control at 12:20 a.m.
