It’s spring, and you know what that means – time to do some spring cleaning and dispose of old papers and unwanted, confidential documents! A Shredding Event held in the Avenue U Parking Lot of Marine Park on Saturday, May 6th made that all possible, thanks to Assemblywomen Jaime Williams (59th AD), Monique Chandler-Waterman (58th AD) and Helene Weinstein (41st AD). Assemblywoman Chandler-Waterman had scheduled an earlier event that was rained out, so she moved her event to the Marine Park location.
Residents were able to drive right up to the disposal site where members of NYC Sanitation safely shredded their documents on the spot.
The event was held in partnership with Millennium Development, Marine Park Alliance, My Time Inc., the NYPD, and the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs.
