In honor of Women’s History Month, the Rosetta Gaston Neighborhood Senior Center, 460 Dumont Avenue, held its 28th Annual Women’s Day Celebration on Friday, March 31st. The party room was full of women who were excited to celebrate the event, as well as men who came to show their support.
Councilman Charles Barron was in attendance, and Evangelist Yvonne Smith was the guest speaker, both offering words of encouragement and honoring the women in attendance. In addition to a delicious luncheon, guests enjoyed music, including a worship song performed by Alexis McCain.
Certificates of appreciation were presented by Aida Ramos to women of distinction in recognition of their “outstanding performance,” and Betsy Colon, director of the senior center for 10 years, concluded the event with some closing words.
