Hundreds of excited students at P.S. 115 Daniel Mucatel School came together on Friday, October 14th to celebrate and kick off the plethora of programs that give them pride in their education.
Parents gathered in the gymnasium at the Canarsie school, 1500 East 92nd Street, where each grade boasted an array of afterschool programs with an energetic pep rally.
Students and teachers carried signs with the school’s theme of strength: R.I.S.E. – which stands for Resilience, Individuality, Sensitivity and Empowerment, an ideology Principal Jonathan Lee said is critical for students to maintain all year round.
Extracurricular activities and clubs celebrated at the pep rally included the track, music and step teams.
Madison High School cheerleaders also put on a performance for the youngsters, entertaining the crowd and showcasing the importance of teamwork.
