An out-of-control car speeding on Rockaway Parkway ran into a storefront, near Farragut Road, around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1st.
FDNY firefighters and EMS responded to the scene of the collision and removed the trapped driver, who was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Fortunately, no pedestrians or other motorists were harmed when the vehicle collided into the storefront. The site of the crash is a busy location, with the Canarsie firehouse directly across the street and the “L” train subway station down the block.
The Department of Buildings will assess the damage caused to the impacted building.
