Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day! Hundreds of revelers, clad in green, gathered for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Gerritsen Beach on Saturday. The lineup included members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Ladies AOH, the American Legion, NYPD’s 61st Precinct, FDNY Ladder 343 and the Gerritsen Beach Fire Department, CERT Team and elected officials, including Assemblywoman Jaime Williams. Along the parade route, which started on Whitney Avenue and continued along Gerritsen Avenue to the Larry Veling Field, parade-goers were entertained by the sweet sound of bagpipes and a rousing performance by the O’Malley School of Irish Dance. After gathering at the ballfield near Seba Avenue, the fun continued with music and dancing and a traditional Irish lunch at some local watering holes.
